Meet Marinova's new Production Manager
Marinova is delighted to welcome Mr Preben Soerensen as the company’s new Production Manager.
Preben is a proven leader in the advanced manufacturing sector. This brief interview provides insight into his extensive experience within the pharmaceutical and food ingredient industries.
What skill do you bring to Marinova?
I trained extensively in the fields of chemistry, nutrition and business through both the Royal Veterinarian and Agricultural University of Denmark and the Copenhagen Business School. I bring more than two decades of management experience to Marinova, primarily in the highly regulated fields of active pharmaceutical ingredients, dietary supplements, food and feed ingredients, as well as unique ingredients for infant nutrition. I have always been focused on high quality product manufacturing and implementing and maintaining global quality standards including ISO 9001, GMP, HACCP, Kosher and Halal.
Can you tell us a bit about your expertise?
I spent almost a decade managing the production of active ingredients for some of the world’s leading pharmaceutical and nutritional companies. I have a genuine passion for working in highly regulated environments and improving processes and efficiencies without compromising on quality. I love working with people and contributing to a collaborative and highly productive workplace.
Whilst I am a specialist in ingredient production, my career has provided me with experience across a range of different areas including R&D, technical marketing, quality, and workplace health and safety. I like to think I bring a sound understanding of how the many different elements of a successful advanced manufacturing business come together.
What brought you to the Marinova team?
I moved to Tasmania four and a half year ago and have been searching for a long-term opportunity in the pharmaceutical or nutritional industry. Positions at Marinova are rare and I knew that the company’s values aligned directly with my own. Marinova’s commitment to quality resonates strongly with my own expertise and I enjoy my role as it gives me both opportunity to manage a dedicated team whilst also remaining ‘hands’-on’, which I thoroughly enjoy.
What are some of the day-to-day activities in your role?
I have oversight of Marinova’s production team. Day-to-day this includes the detailed planning of all production activities and stepping in to support the team where necessary. We all share a commitment to producing products of the highest quality whilst meeting the timelines of our global customer base.
