USA Natural Product Industry Week
October 23 – 29 2023 marks the USA’s first official ‘Natural Product Industry Week’.
The result of a resolution introduced by the US Senate in early 2023, Natural Product Industry Week recognises the significant contribution of natural products both to public health and the economy.
Fittingly, the week also saw close to 20,000 industry professionals attend the USA’s largest health and nutrition trade event, SupplySide West. Held annually in Las Vegas, SupplySide West brings together thousands of innovative suppliers and buyers across the dietary supplement industry.
Speaking of the event, Marinova’s Business Development Manager, Mr Rod Shelley, said, “SupplySide West is an excellent opportunity for Marinova to meet both existing and prospective customers. Having the event scheduled in the USA’s Natural Product Industry Week is very fitting. We are certainly experiencing rapidly increasing demand for our natural, bioactive seaweed extracts.”
Data from the latest consumer survey conducted by the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) indicates that supplement usage has returned to pre-pandemic levels, with more than 75% of Americans reporting dietary supplement usage. “Consumers continue to demand natural, certified organic ingredients that are supported by credible scientific evidence,” continued Mr Shelley. “High purity fucoidans certainly tick all those boxes and more.”
